Wolves have arrived at Lake Superior Zoo. The Lake Superior Zoological Society completed its new grey wolf exhibit, and it was open for a media event Thursday. A public grand opening and ribbon cutting is set for Dec. 31.
The zoo has acquired a bachelor group of three grey wolves from the Wildlife Science Center of Minnesota. The wolves were born as part of a research project for testing a reproductive enhancement technique for a Mexican wolf species recovery program. The Zoological Society staff is excited about the new exhibit and looks forward to educating the public on these majestic and mysterious animals.
