The Swedish wolf population has not decreased in size, despite the winter's controversial hunt killing 28 wolves.  There could be an additional 20 wolves but researchers have not confirmed this yet.

I think it misguided to manage wolves at all but especially before they recover.  Pack disintegration is tied to more livestock conflict.   Continual counting and killing should cease.  I believe it perpetuates an unending conflict.  There is more sense in looking at the ecological and biological considerations over just numbers.
