Puppies are hard to come by(From reputable breeders that is! There is a LONG waiting list!!) Why not rescue a Wolf or Wolf Dog! There are hundreds of animals looking for good homes(With the proper conditions that is!) This place adopts out and charges "No Fee" ~

Welcome to Wolf Howl Animal Preserve's Forum, Ancient.

The first thing I would do, if I were you, is to check the legalities of possessing a wild animal in your area.  Your local Wildlife Agency should be able to supply that information.  They should give you permit information along with housing requirements.  Many places require that you have liability insurance on the animal, which can be quite costly.  After you have all the information you need hands on experience.  If you haven't had experience with Wolves in captivity, it would be a good idea to volunteer at a facility that houses Wolves before you make your decision to be a guardian for one.  Wolves are pack animals and keeping just one would make for a pretty unhappy canid.  Wolves kept alone can develop some unpleasant or neurotic habits. Examine your reasons for wanting a Wolf. Are they in the animals best interest?

When you have all the proper information and some hands on experience, subscribe to the Animal Finder's Guide. Wolf cubs or pups are born in the spring.  Make sure that they were human imprinted, bottle fed before their eyes and ears were open.

I can not stress enough that this is a serious decision, to become a guardian for a Wolf and one that should not be taken lightly.  Know what you are getting into.  There are far too many Wolves and Wolf Dogs that have been abandoned by their guardians once they are through their pup stage.
