The first of January 2018's two supermoons is scheduled to appear on New Year's Day. It's called the Wolf Moon. It will be the bigger of the two supermoons. It is named the Wolf Moon according to the Farmer's Almanac because Wolves howled around native villages in hunger when this moon appeared. I personally think it's because breeding season was upon them and they were looking for their mates or warding off advances from other packs. They are also more active when the moon gives off more light. Either way enjoy the sight! It will be at it's largest when rising.
