Farmers in the Great Lakes Region and the Midwest want protections lifted for the Gray Wolf. They claim depredation on their livestock and that lawmakers don't care about them. They want legislation that will allow them to shoot Wolves on their land. Senator Ron Johnson wrote a bipartisan bill to do just that. Congress has not considered that bill a year after it has been introduced.
The Federal government took Wolves off of endangered status in 2011 but Federal courts blocked that move.
