An Honorable Mention was given to Sophia Montealegre of Florida.  Sophia entered under the guidance of her Teacher, Alexis Salcedo on behalf of TERRA Environmental Research Institute (Miami, FL), under the Environmental Research and Field Studies Academy.   We received numerous entries from the students at Terra.  Ms. Montealegre’s entry was singled out for the wonderful artwork and message to protect and save the Wolves.

In the Adult category an Honorable Mention goes to Janice Barrett of Florence, Alabama.  We had the opportunity to meet Janice on opening day of Wolf Awareness Week 2009.  She knows Wolves and is all for their protection in the Wild.  The Judges found her drawing of one of our Wolf’s Waya to be worthy of mention.  We were all able to identify Waya from her beautiful sketch of him.  The only color in the drawing is his gold eyes.  Striking.
